I know that every time music is performed live, there’s the potential for something special to unfold.

It didn’t take long to realize that was happening on April 1, 2011 within the walls of Steel City Coffeehouse.

Eric Lee Burkert was celebrating the release of his new album, Ode to Aliyah Rivers.

Give it a listen … you really should!

Friends were gathered. A lot of friends.

Some were with him, sharing their music on stage.

Many more packed the house in anticipation.

They were not disappointed.

Bill Mallonee has been writing music for a long time.

Pouring his heart out through his music for a long time. Or leaving it on his sleeve, as he would say.

He’s got quite the story in his musical career. Dating back to his front-running the Vigilantes of Love – back in the day.

These days, it’s sweet and simple. He and Muriah Rose.

March 6, 2010, they graced us with their presence at Puck in Doylestown. Probably 50 or so people there. Intimate. Gripping. Fantastic.
