We fell asleep in Souderton, and woke up in the Abominable Snowman’s lair!

It really did feel like a different world, and as the day moved on, things very quickly went right back to where they were the day before.

(Assuming, that is, that you were one of the lucky ones to hold on to your electricity!)

I was coeerced to get out there with my camera…


The patterns in the ice on the trees was like nothing I’d seen before…






We had a few icicles like this around the house — anybody know why they turn out this way?

I like snow. I like photographing ice. Still – I think I like ‘shorts’n't-shirts’ better.

I love the combination of straight lines/angles and spheres/water droplets. Makes it easy to get lost in the photo.

Wow.

I’m thankful for the invitation, and glad I took them up on it.

The caterpillars wrap themselves into these chrysalis, which start out lime green, with the most amazing detail.

The yellow and black dots look like they were hand-painted. Nope. Just God.

As they get closer to hatching, they start to get dark. By the time they’re ready to come out, the chrysalis turns almost transparent,

and you can actually see all the detail of the Monarch inside.

It really is amazing.

The detail in the wing blew me away. To me, it looks like  a piece of material.

Canvas, maybe?

Beautiful, yes.
